Oppenwehe Bockwindmühle
This is the windmill in Oppenwehe. It was restored and rebuilt in 1991. If you are unfamiliar with a Bock Windmill. You will notice it is constructed entirely of wood. Unlike a Holland-style windmill, the entire building is turned to catch the wind in the vanes. The long piece of wood sticking out form the back is where a mule or horse is tethered to turn it. This mill sits on a main support post harvested from a 600 year-old tree in order to be large enough and strong enough to support the structure and its millstones.
